Aston Old Edwardians Rugby Club
www.pitchero.comAston Old Eds holds a longstanding community spirit with a history to match; the King Edward VI Grammar School Aston was founded in 1883 and the first generation of old boys established a Rugby Club in 1889 following the purchasing of our Perry Common ground as a memorial to the 123 Aston Old Edwardian's killed in the 1914-18 Great War. In 1920 AOEFC became founder members of the North Midlands RFU and 1922 saw North Midlands reach the final of the County Championship (losing to Gloucester) with eight AOE's winning county caps. Today's clubhouse community withstands with a thriving social scene with approximately 600-700 visitors a week including spectators, players, coaches and sponsors. Our thriving Mini & Junior section's growth is overtaking the club grounds each and every Sunday morning, our Senior teams include a youthful 1XV participating in the Mids 4 league, their counterparts; the 2XV who play a mixture of friendly's and partake in the Merit League and our Ladies XV who are in their second year of a 'proper' league! Off season the senior Men & Women compete in many touch and Seven's tournaments including hosting our own Seven's Festival in June 2018.
