Pelt covers a size area of 83.63 square kilometers or 32.29 square miles and has about 33 000 inhabitants. Pelt consists of 10 unique villages: Overpelt centrum, Neerpelt centrum, Sint-Huibrechts-Lille, Lindel-Hoeven, Boseind, Haspershoven, Holheide, Overpelt-Fabriek, Grote Heide and Herent. Industrial area Nolim-park serves as the most important component of Pelt's economy, mainly located inbetween the local highways N71, N74 and the channel Herentals-Bocholt. Pelt is seen as a municipality with a deliberately green look and feel. Both 'Bosland' and 'De Groote Heide' are beautiful areas of nature, known for their vast forests and spectacular heathers.
