Consumers are rapidly making the switch to over-the-top (OTT) video services and live streaming applications like Facebook Live. This has been enabled by highly capable mobile devices, uncapped high speed broadband to homes and uncapped high speed cellular data. The technical challenges with OTT services includes minimizing buffering, maximizing data rate and minimizing startup time. Data shows that when poor performance occurs that consumers disengage and often leave these services (also called churn). Some OTT services have churn rates as high as 30% which is a huge cost to the business to find new customers through advertising and marketing. Why InterfereX? InterfereX directly addresses the challenges of OTT Video delivery. The CLRifex product under extensive US wide trials has shown that when congestion exists that it can enhance OTT VoD performance dramatically. Our results show that we can increase the data rates by more than twice, while enhancing the quality by more than 70%.
