In 2015, Dr. Langer while still in medical school wanted to help a couple who adopted a child who was not thriving. A stomach infection was not allowing the infant to absorb vital nutrients and she was losing weight rapidly. The parents, in extreme duress, asked Dr. Langer what could be done at which time he took it upon himself to reach out to another mother who produced an excess of milk. Ultimately the baby thrived and he decided that upon graduation he would dedicate himself to breast milk advocacy and access training. He was subsequently introduced to his partner Dr. Blanca Uscanga Aguilar, PhD. They collaborated and worked over the past 5 years to make this a reality.
