SPOTVESSELS
www.spotvessels.comSpotVessels is the first-of-its-kind B2B platform that enables companies to automatically contract inland waterway transport and optimize ships' free capacities. SpotVessels core module consists of a computer-implemented method for optimizing variable transport parameters and increasing the efficiency of the inland waterways. By utilizing the real-time availability of logistics services, location of barges, free capacities, and traffic information, SpotVessels optimizes transport operations. Dynamic chain composition algorithms enable us to compose a transport chain dynamically. In addition, we offer new smart shipping functions improving route planning, including passing bridges, locks, and critical gauges, based on ship type, convoy formation, and cargo type. The synchronization of processes in multimodal hubs and cargo visibility leads to increased efficiency and reduced cost. Our main goal is more efficient and accessible inland waterway transport attracting more cargo to the EU inland waterways. SpotVessels was among the shortlisted startups admitted to participating in the Invest Horizon Accelerator for deep tech startups. In the intense competition of well-established projects, we won first place at the EPG Rocket Club competition for visionary logistics startups in Germany. Furthermore, SpotVessels is a winner in the EU Entrance Open Competition for "first-of-its-kind projects that can revolutionize EU logistics." Microsoft granted us full technological support via the Microsoftforstartups program. Our core optimization technology is in the final procedure for PCT patent approval. The patent application was funded by FFG (Austrian Research Promotion Agency), acknowledging that the chance of getting a patent is realistic.
