The German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation is the development policy institution of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe. It carries the Sparkasse model of success across regional borders into the world, with the aim of giving people in developing and emerging countries access to financial services and thus creating perspectives for a way out of poverty. In West Africa, we operate in Ghana, Liberia and The Gambia. Three projects have been the focus of the organization in West Africa. These are the activities within the scope of the West-African Regional Project with the Co-operative Credit Union Associations in the respective countries, the Dual Education Program (Management Certification and Board of Directors training) with Micro finance Institutions and the Supporting potential Refugees and Returnees program.
