I know we all have a unique calling. I believe leadership is about living that calling in all the roles we have in our lives. I am a friend and a father who helps people and organizations find and live their calling. I work with leaders in learning to connect the past, the present, and the future in order to achieve sustainable results. This is what I call transition. Own Your Past In my life and work I discovered – first as a growing man, as a teacher of international law and as a lawyer in family cases – the incredible power and necessity of dialogue in small and big changes. In what way did the beautiful and painful experiences of life shape you? Are you living your life without resentment, regret for missed opportunities, pain for what was lost? Embrace the Present The complex and rapidly changing world we live and work in requires us to focus on what is really important. It also invites us to discover what our secure bases are and how we connect to them. Not as some kind of trick, but authentically. In doing so, do you take sufficient (emotional) risks to get the best out of yourself and others? Do you allow yourself enough curiosity and are your choices aimed at learning and developing? Create Your Future If you do not know where you come from, you cannot determine your course either. Not everything in your life can be manipulated and controlled. Except for one thing: the choice you make in how you want to respond to what is happening within yourself and around you. I can give you examples from my own life of how this has worked and I would like to share examples of inspiring thinkers and leaders with whom I was privileged to work and learn.
