Our Purpose The Alliance provides mentoring, scholarships, career development and financial support for the most talented doctoral students to conduct laboratory research projects in four years, leveraging the combined expertise of the National Institutes of Health and the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford. Our Vision The Alliance is a recognized leader in creating a new paradigm for advanced biomedical research training. Established in 2005 as a public-private partnership, the International Biomedical Research Alliance (The Alliance) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Alliance is comprised of a group of dedicated private citizens with the shared aim of training a new generation of top biomedical researchers in the NIH Oxford-Cambridge Scholars Program. The Alliance has been a source of ideas and support for trainees in the NIH Oxford-Cambridge Scholars Program to complement their bench research with unique educational experiences. We provide support beyond that which the program is capable, including financial support for workshops, career development, mentoring, leadership training, scholar activities , and laboratory scholarships.
