Savannah Voice Festival is a production of The VOICExperience Foundation. Mission Statement: Dedicated to the quality, integrity and perpetuation of the vocal arts at its very highest level through programs for career-seeking artists, we provide performance and study opportunities for singers while creating outreach of opera & musical theatre to the communities of the world. History: When opera legend Sherrill Milnes retired from the stage, he decided to create a means for young singers to advance in their careers by connecting them with educators from the highest levels in the opera business, while at the same time creating performance opportunities that would allow people who might not otherwise experience the power of opera to finally experience this amazing art form at its best. Together with his wife Maria Zouves, they established the VOICExperience Foundation (VE) in 2001. VE organizes several intensive programs throughout the year that guide singers in directions that lead to their success, and works within communities to build new audiences for opera by making the vocal arts accessible and fun.
