The Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority (VCEDA) is a regional economic development organization created by the Virginia General Assembly in 1988 to enhance the economic base and create jobs in the seven county, one city coalfield region of Southwest Virginia. The region includes Buchanan, Dickenson, Lee, Russell, Scott, Tazewell and Wise counties and the City of Norton. VCEDA markets the region as Southwest Virginia's e-Region - with a focus on electronic IT, energy, education, emerging technologies and entrepreneurs.
