Coated Metals Group leads the way in providing high quality pre-finished steel and aluminum building products. CMG produces a large selection of gauges, sizes, and finishes of coil and sheets, along with a wide variety of roofing, soffit and wall panel systems. Our Story Our story begins with two brothers in the roofing and architectural sheet metal business, searching for a sheet metal supplier to provide quality products at competitive pricing having shorter lead times. When Gary and Scott couldn't find a supplier that met their standards, they decided it was time that they became that supplier. The transition to providing materials to other architectural sheet metal firms was an early success rooted in the foundation that the company had been built from the customer's perspective. CMG would outperform its customers' expectations because they had been that customer and knew intimately their needs and requirements like only the customer can. CMG, initially a family-owned company that started with a few ideas scribbled out on a napkin (literally), quickly grew into an established business operating multiple facilities. As the company continued to grow, Gary and Scott decided that it was important to recognize the efforts of the many employees who had participated in the company's growth and had been dedicated and loyal to the success of the company. The most appropriate action to recognize the dedication would be to bestow to their employees ownership of the company they had been instrumental in building. In 2016, they announced CMG would become a 100% employee owned company. Today, CMG operates six locations nationwide and continues to grow. The company's success is a result of the hard work and commitment of its employees and their dedication to the company that they so proudly own.
