East Slovakia Investment Agency was established due to the need for steps eliminating long-term worsening of the economic status of Eastern Slovakia and its citizens. The idea of founding such an agency was welcomed and supported by Košice and Prešov Self-Governing Regions, representatives from academic community and entrepreneurs of the region who, at the same time, participated in its foundation. The first and most important goal of the agency is to bring new investments into the region what will lead to the increase of number of job opportunities. This way it will also add a higher value to the region in the field of industrial production, tourism, services and research and development of different economic sectors.
