Life Scheme is a 501c3, formerly known as Earth-Link; Earth-Light, that has developed a new innovative way to combat the symptoms of depression with a spiritual self -help methodology that utilizes a three-tier approach. Michael Maitre, the founder of Life Scheme, states that the methodology implemented was derived from his personal bout with the illness, how he overcame it, and how he actively deals with the lingering symptoms today. Life Scheme Vision Statement We envision a world in which the symptoms, stigma, and suspense surrounding depression are eliminated in communities of color, and self-awareness becomes the primary source of preventative maintenance for the foreseeable future. Life Scheme Mission Statement Although anyone can develop depression, African Americans sometimes experience more severe forms of mental health conditions due to unmet needs and other barriers presented by cultural norms. Life Scheme is a global community dedicated through a proven methodology of Self Realization principles, interactive social media, and community organizing, to transform a landscape where a stigmatized culture creates roadblocks for traditional means of healing depression within communities of color. These methods are pushed forward with the intention of creating a new dynamic within urban culture that can positively impact the world through spiritual and practical tools.
