New Zealanders use alcohol and other drugs for a variety of reasons but risk harming themselves, their family, and their community. Society ignores and condemns people who use drugs in the hope of persuading others not to. This failed and has led to only more harm. The NZ Drug Foundation instead advocates health-based policies, comprehensive harm reduction and accessible support options for those who need it. It's time we accept that drugs, of which alcohol is one, are a part of everyday life. We are a small NGO with about 13 staff who are mostly based at our main office in Wellington (registered charity CC27025).
