Wells Bring Hope
www.wellsbringhope.orgWells Bring Hope is committed to drilling wells to bring safe water and good sanitation to rural villages in Niger, West Africa. According to the most recent UN Human Development Index, Niger is the poorest country in the world. Here, contaminated water claims a staggering number of innocent victims, with the vast majority being infants and young children. The exhausting and time consuming burden of finding and fetching water falls almost entirely upon women and girls. They must walk several miles in search of water, which often comes from contaminated sources. Women and girls then complete the backbreaking work of carrying heavy buckets back to their villages every single day. The result? Girls are unable to attend school and women are left with no time to work to generate income for their families. This doesn't have to happen. Wells Bring Hope transforms communities by drilling deep wells which tap underground aquifers, yielding a clean and plentiful water supply. Entire villages are made healthier, girls can finally attend school, and women are empowered to support their families. Our wells bring hope.
