HOPES Center
www.hopescenter.orgRecognizing the worth and dignity of each person, HOPES Center serves the mental health and social service needs of people who are poor and experiencing homelessness in Racine, Wisconsin. HOPES is a sponsored ministry of the Racine Dominicans and an active member of the Homelessness and Housing Alliance of Racine County. HOPES helps people transition out of homelessness through three main services: 1. Street Outreach: Teams of staff and volunteers go out onto the streets of Racine at night to meet people who are homeless where they are are and provide information, assistance, and hopes for a better future. 2. Supportive Services: HOPES provides supportive services for people who are homeless and have a serious mental illness through its PATH (Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness) program. PATH listens and helps link people to mental health services, income and housing. 3. Housing: Rapid rehousing assists people who are living in emergency shelters or in places not meant for human habitation to move into permanent housing and end their homelessness. HOPES Center's rapid rehousing program is part of Racine's coordinated entry system that links people who are homeless to housing opportunities. HOPES provides case management and rental assistance to people coming from the HALO, Women's Resource Center, and Transitional Living Center of Burlington shelters, as well as those who have contact with street outreach teams.
