GEMS (Graded English Medium School) was established in 1984 at Sanepa, Lalitpur. In the year 2000, it shifted classes from four to ten including boarding houses to its own complex spread over 6 hectares of land at Khumaltar, Dhapakhel, Lalitpur. The new complex comprises two residential and four main academic buildings with the state-of-the-art facilities. The management has been emphasizing quality education since its inception in 1984, and, as a result, it has positioned itself as one of most leading educational institutions in the country today. GEMS Institute of Higher Education (GIHE), the higher education wing of GEMS, was established in 2008 with the objective of providing quality higher level education to students from all walks of life. Under the higher education wing, GEC A level, Plus 2 under the affiliation with Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) and BS/MD (Bachelor of Science leading to Doctor of Medicine) under the affiliation with Angeles University Foundation (AUF), the Philippines are run.
