Rediscovery, a Division of the Justice Resource Institute
www.rediscoveryinc.orgRediscovery's Mission: Rediscovery offers a continuum of services to unaccompanied, homeless high school students and youth who are aging out of foster care, in order to ensure their successful transition to adulthood. Rediscovery's History: In January of 2001, Rediscovery was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a focus on developing innovative residential, educational, vocational and clinical models to address the national crisis of ill-prepared youth transitioning out of state care into homelessness or welfare systems. In February of 2002, Rediscovery partnered with a larger non-profit that provided back-room support and allowed Rediscovery to start its first residential group home program. In 2009, Rediscovery left the partnership to stand on its own. In July of 2011, Rediscovery entered into a strategic merger with the Justice Resource Institute (JRI), a larger human services agency in Massachusetts. The merger allows Rediscovery to keep its brand and identity as a cutting-edge, solutions-oriented service provider while allowing us to leverage the strength and infrastructure of an organization much deeper and broader than ourselves. Despite the merger, however, we must continue to raise all of the funding to sustain our privately funded initiatives such as YouthHarbors.
