East Asia Super League
www.easl.basketballThe East Asia Super League (Simplified Chinese:东亚超级联赛; Traditional Chinese: 東亞超級聯賽), abbreviated as EASL, is the premier regional championship competition for club basketball in East Asia. EASL’s founding mission is to create East Asia’s premier basketball league, while elevating the sport in Asia as the region’s first professional intra-club basketball league. EASL’s vision is to become one of the world’s top three professional basketball leagues in the world by its Season 3 in terms of commercial revenue and fan base. EASL has organized four pre-season tournaments from 2017-2019, featuring club teams from the top leagues in Asia, including: Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), B.LEAGUE (Japan), Korean Basketball League (KBL), Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) and the Super Basketball League (SBL). In September 2019, EASL held a week-long tournament, The Terrific 12, in Macau that attracted sellout live audiences and broadcast to more than 117 million viewers worldwide across 36 platforms. East Asia Super League operates with an exclusive 10-year agreement with FIBA, the world governing body for basketball, granting FIBA Asia’s recognition. The champions and runners-up from the previous Japan B.LEAGUE, Korea KBL and Philippines PBA seasons will qualify to compete in EASL. The newly formed Bay Area Dragons and the championship team from Chinese Taipei’s P. LEAGUE+, will be the Greater China representatives. EASL tips off Season 1 with EASL Champions Week that will see the top teams in the region battle for the right to be crowned the best of the best.
