He has authored and co-authored 11 scientific papers on king cobras and more than 10 scientific papers on other herpetological topics and book reviews. He has rescued and relocated over 350 king cobras from distress situations and monitored over 35 king cobra nests. Sharmila Gowri Shankar Sharmila a post-graduate in computer science and former engineer at Microsoft took to the wilderness with her keen interest in snakes, birds, butterflies, and ants. As the Assistant Director, she handles the administrative aspects of KCRE. Prashanth Prashanth is a seasoned naturalist, manager, an expert in identifying caecilians and well linked with the local communities.
