Cheshire Moon is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing access to arts education and performances. Through collaborative performance opportunities that give back to the community, we provide platforms for local artists to connect with the public, as well as both support and promote arts education in Los Angeles schools. We strive to use the arts as a force for change in Southern California. Cheshire Moon has established three primary programs to support its mission and goals: Dancescape, Dancescape NextGen, and Dancescape Ed. Our flagship performance gala, DANCESCAPE, is a benefit dance concert that showcases the top dance talent in Southern California while raising funds for arts programs in our public schools. Now in our 10th year, we are proud to have impacted over 6,500 public school students in the Los Angeles area through. Dancescape NextGen is a performance event featuring student and pre-professional dancers. The show is designed as a celebration of the variety of dance styles, teachers, and programs in Los Angeles, as well as an opportunity to bring the Southern California youth dance community together. Our newest program, Dancescape Ed, brings our roster of dancers, choreographers, and teachers into local schools to provide dance education programming. Whether creating performance opportunities, developing new arts programs, or supporting existing arts programs in our local schools, we strive to open doors to new arts experiences for all. We then use the momentum, relationships, and funds raised from these experiences to create new ones – striving to constantly grow and expand the number of people reached, and increase access to the arts at a student, pre-professional, and professional level. We are committed to innovative programs that reach beyond the participants and audience into the community at large. We believe in the power of paying it forward, and the ripple effect of positivity.
