Arab Open University - Kuwait Branch
www.arabou.edu.kwThe Arab Open University (AOU) is sustainable development and educational non-profit project. It was founded by HRH Prince Talal Bin Abdul-Aziz, Chairman of the AOU Board of Trustees. In September 2000, AOU was officially declared in the meeting of Arab ministers of higher education where five Arab countries offered to host the headquarters of AOU. Among them was Kuwait that was chosen to be the headquarters of AOU in December 2000. Today AOU has eight branches in Kuwait, Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, Oman, and Sudan. The initiative taken by AOU Board of Trustees, chaired by HRH Prince Talal Bin Abdulaziz, in adopting the new learning concept of “blended learning” reflects his HRH great interest in the advancement of Arab youth and Arab future generations. Blended learning is considered one of the advanced learning systems. AOU has been accredited with this system by British Open University since 2001. Kuwait branch is considered one of the essential branches as it provides its learning services to nearly five thousand students. The new campus of Kuwait Branch is furnished with all necessary and up-to-date equipment including learning resources to serve our students. In the process of developing AOU; Board of Trustees had initiated and approved “Master Program” for MBA, English Literature, Software development, and Education. ACADEMIC PROGRAMS: ----------------------------- Business Studies:- ---------------------- Business Studies with Systems Business Studies with Economics Business Studies with Accounting Business Studies with Marketing Business Studies with Management Computer Studies:- ---------------------- Information Technology & Computing Track (ITC) English Studies:- ------------------- English Language & Literature English Language & Literature with Business Studies In order to achieve a bachelor degree, students must finish 128-136 credit hours depending on their program and study plan.
