Tengah Island Conservation (T.I.C) is a biodiversity management initiative located on Pulau Tengah, an island within the Johor Marine Park, Malaysia. Founded by Batu Batu, a sustainably-focused, off-grid island resort, T.I.C is dedicated to the research, rehabilitation and regeneration of our natural environment. Our systemic and community-driven approach is to conserve and protect flora, fauna and marine ecosystems by informing, inspiring and involving relevant stakeholders, government, biodiversity specialists, the tourism industry, and local community. T.I.C. currently employs 4 full-time scientists in Malaysia who manage marine and terrestrial conservation programmes, a volunteer research assistant and internship programme and a community partnership and engagement initiative to create collaborations and drive positive change.
