The Center for Holocaust, Human Rights & Genocide Education at Brookdale Community College, in Lincroft, New Jersey, is a non-profit volunteer organization founded in 1979 as the Center for Holocaust Studies. We address human rights and civil rights issues worldwide. We serve the community through our extensive library of books, periodicals and media materials, and permanent archives of memorabilia, artifacts and documents from local survivors. Our Teacher Resource Center contains curricula, lesson plans, and study guides. We offer a Speakers’ Bureau of scholars, educators and Holocaust survivors, and programs and services to students and teachers, such as the Catherine Woolf Student Leadership Conference, theatrical performances, teacher training programs. Our other educational services include our Annual Colloquium and the Luna Kaufman Writing and Art Contest for students in grades 5 - college. We also offer programs for the general community, including scholarly lectures, film series, book discussions and collaborative programs with the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in the training of Law Enforcement Officers. The Center also provides a court-mandated 12-week education program for Monmouth and Ocean Counties juvenile bias crime offenders
