The American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation (AHNCC) is a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization that credentials nurses in holistic nursing and nurse coaching, and endorses academic nursing programs that are based in the precepts of holistic nursing. AHNCC has been granted initial accreditation by the Accreditation Board for Specialty Nursing Certification, Inc. (ABSNC) for five nursing certification programs. The programs are: AHN-BC – Advanced Holistic Nurse, Board Certified; APHN-BC – Advanced Practice Holistic Nurse, Board Certified; HNB-BC - Holistic Baccalaureate Nurse, Board Certified ; HN-BC -Holistic Nurse, Board Certified and NC-BC – Nurse Coach, Board Certified. The ABSNC is the only accrediting body specifically for nursing certification. Currently ABSNC accredits 65 certification programs from 20 specialty nursing certification organizations. ABSNC accreditation is a peer-review mechanism that allows nursing certification organizations to obtain accreditation by demonstrating compliance with the highest quality standards available in the industry.
