LeaderWork, Inc.
www.leaderworkinc.comLeaderWork's mission is to work in collaboration with individuals and organizations to create customized transdisciplinary programs and consulting partnerships that are designed to engage a new level of thinking to accomplish leadership work. The essence and uniqueness of the emerging new level of thinking is in its transdisciplinary approach that holds the “hard” intellectual/ analytical and “soft” emotional /spiritual aspects of organization and individual development in a holistic creative tension together in time and place as they play out in reality. “We cannot solve our problems at the same level of thinking that created them.” It will always be necessary to accomplish management work, but given the complex and systemic nature of the business challenges we face today, the management thinking that supports this work is not sufficient. We need a new level of thinking that embraces both kinds of work. This new thinking must pose the question of what more we must also know, do and be as individuals and institutions to thrive in an unpredictable complex world. This “what more” encompasses a personal challenge to risk being part of the unfolding possibility, not an intellectual observer of it. In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” Change is about us, not just about restructuring our surroundings. There are aspects of organizational reality that are effectively captured by the objectively neutral mindsets of the economist or scientist, but the nature of relationships and challenges to identity inherent in change and leadership work are personal.
