1 Billion Africa

www.1billionafrica.org

A nonprofit organization and movement that invests in young people, especially in deprived communities in Africa using the model of turning problems into projects. 1BA supports social and economic change in communities via investment in youth and children through educational, technology, health, agricultural, and gender-based projects which center on the United Nation’s first 5 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and resonate with African Union’s AGENDA 2063. With a collective GDP of $2.58 trillion (projected to be $29 trillion by 2050), and a population of 1.3 billion + people in Africa, the continent is better off having its people solve its own problems, by the identification of pertinent challenges and the mastery of courage to turn these problems into projects/businesses, essentially solutions to transform Africa. www.1billionafrica.org is on a mission to help alleviate poverty and uplift communities by identifying key problems in deprived communities and turning them into sustainable projects, as well as creating an example for young Africans to do the same. Once Africans in Africa and Africans in the Diaspora work together, the “1 billion” problems can be turned into “1 billion” projects. In almost 10 years 1Billion Africa has impacted over 13,500 Youth & Children in Ghana and other African countries through Projects, Advocacy & Support services. Some of its notable projects include Tech2Orphans, Go Empower Schools, STEM4Africa, and Gateway. The organization is currently in its growth stage and invites people with Africa’s interest at heart to get involved. Visit www.1billionafrica.org
