Epitome, The Economics Society of Shivaji College was built, managed and initiated by young Economic enthusiasts having active participation from every student and teachers of Department of Economics. Epitome has retained its position as one of the leading societies in Shivaji College in awareness and imparting knowledge and opinions on various issues and matters related to Economics. The society also aims to organize various guest lectures, discussions, seminars and workshops to keep students updated with prevailing issues and its macro economic impacts, ensuring regular interaction among faculty and students of Economics Department and organizing trip for its members. The Economics Department organizes its annual economics festival, PARETO which demonstrates active involvement of college students and showcase the dynamic and stimulating culture, sharing Economics insights. Various games including Quiz Competition, Online Paper Presentation and informal events like treasure hunt are organized having participants from across Delhi University. This year, the society initiated to organize Lecture Series 2018-19 with the support of Faculty. The speakers list included well known Professors and Members from Government body. The inaugural lecture was by guest speaker Dr. Chetan Ghate, who served as a member of RBI on topic Monetary Business Cycle in India. Prof. Praveen Jha, conducted lecture on current issue of Depreciating Rupee. This also engages the college students into intellectual discussions and to come up with solutions of the prevailing challenges faced in Indian economy.
