American Welding Academy, Vision is that NYC Vets & Urban youth will have the professional skill set that will allow them the ability to give back to and strengthen their families and the communities in which they live. Our Mission, is to teach and prepare New York City Vets and Urban Youth to learn the necessary skills to become professional welders. The Goal, we will accomplish by doing this. Decrease the number of unemployment amongst NYC Veterans and Urban Youth. Decrease incarceration rates amongst NYC Vets and Urban Youth. According to Independent Commission on New York City Criminal Justice and Incarceration Reform. Youth ages 16-24 held on violent felony charges, account for one-third (34 percent). Decrease homelessness amongst NYC Vets and Urban Youth, according to New York City Youth Count Report 2017. Youth ages 24 and younger in shelters and unsheltered in NYC total 7,251. We can change these numbers by teaching our NYC Vets and young adults a skill trade, that will always allow them to provide for themselves and there families.
