NZ Association of Metal Recyclers
www.scrapmetal.org.nzThe NZ Association of Metal Recyclers (formerly the Scrap Metal Recycling Association of NZ) represents the New Zealand metals recycling industry. Founded in 1968, there are members of the Association throughout the country. Our members operate a critical export industry for the country earning an estimated $425 million per year (metals are the 23rd largest export commodity for New Zealand). We help to manage New Zealand's environment by diverting 740,000 tonnes of metals each year from landfill. Many policy makers and members of the general public are unaware that most metals can be recycled at a scrap metal dealer, even though only a limited number of metal items are accepted by kerbside recycling schemes.
