The Co-operative Life Ltd.

www.lifecoop.com.au

Formerly, Cooperative Home Care (CHC) is Sydney‐based Australia's first employee-owned home support co-operative. We are providers for aged and disabled individuals and their families. We specialise in helping people with multiple and complex needs. The Co-operative Life (TCL) is an example of how the entrepreneurial spirit of a small group of like-minded people can establish a new way of providing individualised, affordable and quality care in a supportive and empowering work environment. In TCL’s innovative home care service delivery model, care workers are both TCL employees and owners. In an industry known for its low pay, poor working conditions and high staff turnover, TCL can provide a unique working environment where workers are directly involved in the business. Workers cooperatively make decisions on issues that affect them, such as salary, work schedules, service users' care programs and training. This worker/member engagement and reinvestment of profits set TCL apart from existing public and privately run homecare providers. In March 2017, we changed our business models and name to further our purpose.
