www.iwwfed.comThe International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation (IWWF) is the international regulatory body promoting water skiing, wakeboarding and other water sports, setting the official rules of water skiing and official tournaments, coordinating the work of national federations. Before 2009 the IWWF had the name IWSF. It was renamed at the Congress 2009 in Calgary. In 2016 the "International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation" lost it's right to the term "IWWF" and now must use it's old tag "IWSF" The IWSF was founded in 1946. In 1967 the IWSF was recognized for the first time by the International Olympic Committee at its meeting in Tehran. At the 1972 Summer Olympics in Münich, Waterski was an Olympic Demonstration Sport for the first time. In 1998 Wakeboarding was likewise officially recognized by the IOC. The IWWF is also member of the General Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF). The President of the IWWF is Jose Antonio Perez Priego. The IWWF currently has 84 Member Nations.
