Samir Khairallah & Partners, Architects, Planners & Engineers was established in Beirut in 1960. During the previous five decades, SKP has evolved into a multinational and multi-disciplined consultancy practice, covering a wide range of services including architecture, master planning, engineering and contract management. The operation of the practice was expanded in 1975 to serve in several countries in the Middle East, Africa and Europe from four regional offices in Lebanon, the United Kingdom, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. In 1992, SKP was reconsolidated in Lebanon with the support of operation units where required and a joint practice, The Syntax Group, in the United Kingdom. The diverse list of clients wtlo have patronized SKP includes the Governments of the United States of America, Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Lebanon, as well as a number of prestigious institutions of higher learning such as the American University of Beirut, The Lebanese American University, The University of Balamand and The University of Damascus. SKP was also the recipient of selective appointments by a number of public and private institutions such as the Council for Development and Reconstruction in Lebanon, Solidere, Byblos Bank, Saint George Hospital, IFA Hotels & Resorts and Majid Al Futtaim Properties among other prestigious corporate and private entities. SKP has a long history of collaborating with architects of international repute from Paul Rudolph and Ernest Kump to Rafael Moneo, Vincent James Architects and more recently Foster & Partners. Throughout its practice, SKP has never ceased to set new parameters of excellence. It was the recipient of international citations and awards for a variety of projects in different parts of the world including the U.S. Embassy Residence in Lebanon, 147 Cromwell Road in London and the State Guest Palaces in Qatar.
