Companies that commit to upholding the STEP Standard for fair trade throughout their entire supply chain, along with independent inspection and verification, are distinguished as Licensed STEP Partners. Founded in Bern, Switzerland in 1995, STEP is the only organization of its kind working in all major rug and carpet producing countries.
