The Port's history spans over 400 years and eight flags, throughout which it has gained an excellent reputation for flexibility, efficiency, customer service, and community engagement. A variety of commercial cargo flows through the port annually. Major exports include forest products (including paper, lumber, and Kraft Liner Board), machinery, yachts, and steel products. Imports are containerized commodities such as steel rebar, hardwoods, plastics, frozen and chilled foods, building materials, beverages, consumer goods, and oats. Fernandina's strategic positioning between Jacksonville and Savanna provides for excellent feeder service with the broad international market, in addition to, its current service routes to Bermuda, Norway, the Netherlands, Grenada, and other countries.
