The mission of Health Goes Global is to elevate the quality of life for people in underserved communities through preventive health care. Preventive health care consists of measures taken for disease prevention, as opposed to disease treatment. Simple health hygiene and education is cost effective, sustainable, and saves lives! We began fulfilling our mission by repurposing unused laboratory gloves to be used as medical examination gloves in situations where infection was a risk, preventing the spread of disease in health care settings. Since our name change from Gloves Go Global to Health Goes Global in 2019, we have expanded our outreach beyond examination gloves and support a variety of preventative health projects worldwide. These projects are all unique and include increasing access to safe drinking water to reduce diarrheal disease and other waterborne diseases, providing birthing kits to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates and financially supporting understocked remote clinics promoting preventative care within their community. At the core of each of our projects is empowering local leaders, in and out of the health care system, to gain the resources and health education to uplift the quality of life in their community.
