Two Sundays Big Band

www.twosundays.org

Playing everything from contemporary charts to well known classics, the Two Sundays Big Band brings energy and entertainment to the Twin Cities Metro in a genre where many have become complacent. Throughout its four years of performance, the Two Sundays Big Band has played at venues such as Centennial Lakes Park, The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, The Scott Country Fair, and Crystal Frolics. Although formed in the summer of 2019, the big band's origins can be traced back even further. In the Winter 2013, Conor Stoebner, Parker Stoebner, Austin Wu, and Eric Wu (who were in middle school together at the time) began playing together, prompted by their teachers at Chaska Music Studios . The group has been together ever since, gradually adding members until having enough for a big band. Currently, the band now consists of 20 musicians from 13 to 25 years old. With a wide variety of backgrounds, the band is made up of not only full time musicians, but also people with backgrounds in business, computer engineering, statistics, biochemistry, airplane mechanics, psychology, and economics. Like many performing groups, the band was greatly affected by COVID-19. After finding modest success in the summer of 2019, the group went from having five summer performances booked to zero. The band has since recovered and managed to play five shows again the summer of 2022, and is looking forward to an exciting season to come in the summer of 2023.
