Originally founded as All Your Base Cafe, a cyber-café located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Opened in 2001 by Aaron "Reactor303" Kostuik, it enjoyed one full year of business before having to close due to the selling of the building. After opening www.allyourbasecafe.com as a forum primarily to keep people updated to the reopening of the new café, a computer hardware store was added to the webpage and the site was renamed All Your Base Online. The store did extremely well in the Winnipeg hardware community. AYBOnline is currently one of the largest gaming organizations in Canada, and boasts a mailing list of roughly 6000 people. AYBOnline hosts two major events each year, known as BaseLAN; one in the Spring and another in the Fall. BaseLAN came into existence in August 2003; the first event was called Baselan 4, as there were three held at the original café. The first event drew 34 gamers and blew many breakers at Canadinn’s Fort Garry Hotel. Originally there were 4 events per year, later brought down to 3, and now sits at 2 as the sheer size of these events requires many months of planning. AYBOnline has worked with many organizations including WCG Canada, CyberActiv, and most recently eSports Canada. Several of our BaseLAN events have been recognized as regional qualifiers for the WCG, and recently the Blizzard World Championship Series.
