The NYA is the national body for youth work in England, although our reach and influence stretches across the UK and internationally. We have been transforming lives through youth work for over 50 years. Young people – all young people – deserve a productive, fulfilling future. There’s a waste of human potential going on that urgently needs to be reversed. Our mission is to transform the lives of young people in England and beyond through the power of youth work. Our vision is to annually support one million young people through our work by 2023. We believe in young people; we recognise society needs their spark and energy of to make it tick. Young people are our nation’s future. They have the power to make the world a better place for us all. All young people should have the confidence and skills they need to live, learn, work and achieve. Youth work is in our view the best methodology to unlock young people’s potential by providing high quality support and opportunities. Skilled youth workers build relationships that support young people to explore their personal, social and educational development. Youth work enables young people to develop their voice, influence and place within society.
