The Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park
www.fothcp.orgTower Hamlets Cemetery Park is thirty one acres of beautiful and atmospheric woodland in the heart of East London. This is the most urban woodland in London and supports an incredible variety of trees, plants, birds, insects, bats, beetles and butterflies, being a public park as well as a designated Local Nature Reserve and a Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation. The Cemetery Park is managed for people and wildlife by The Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park, a charity with a service level agreement with Tower Hamlets Council. We have three members of staff, a dedicated board of trustees, and are supported by over 3,000 volunteers who take part in conservation work throughout the year. Our volunteers come from all walks of life including local people and corporate groups. The Friends run over 170 events each year, including guided walks, training courses, family events, history events, forest school, fairs and volunteer events. The Cemetery Park also plays host to festivals and performances such as Shuffle Festival.
