The Masdar Institute of Science and Technology (Masdar Institute) is a research-driven institute addressing issues of regional and global importance through a specialty in clean and renewable energy, water and environment, and sustainable technologies. The Institute is a part of Khalifa University of Science and Technology. Masdar Institute of Science and Technology was established by the government of Abu Dhabi as a not-for-profit, private graduate university to develop indigenous R&D capacity, while addressing issues of importance to the region. Dedicated to providing real-world solutions to issues of sustainability, the Institute aims to become a world-class research-driven university, focusing on advanced energy and sustainable technologies. With an ongoing collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Masdar Institute aims to produce cutting-edge technology that can potentially be commercialized by other Masdar units.
