In order to address increasing product complexity, Systems Engineering and PLM can no longer be considered to be ‘mutually exclusive’. Anyone wishing to embrace the Model Based Enterprise (MBE), must address not only the product and data aspects, but also the process and organisational change aspects in order to fully extract the value this brings. One thing is clear though, having traceability throughout the product lifecycle is critical for product compliance.
