EJ Water is a not-for-profit water Co-Op dedicated to making rural communities sustainable. Founded in 1989, EJ Water is now the fastest growing regional water system in rural Illinois. It has developed into a multi-county system, serving more than 11,000 members and a population of over 75,000 people through memberships, contract services and wholesaling to multiple communities. The EJ Water Board of Directors is dedicated to serving as many unserved members as possible. Each phase brings the water mains a little closer to those that go without fresh, quality water. EJ Water is a leading innovator within the water utility space and is proud to have been twice a winner of the Illinois Best Tasting Water Award, a finalist at the 2019 Global Water Awards in London, and a recipient for the Effingham Chamber's 2019 Business in Excellence Award.
