Studio Samuel
www.studiosamuel.orgStudio Samuel is a non-profit organization creating pathways for girls to become self-reliant through education + employable skills. The flagship training center opened in January 2015, once Studio Samuel received its International NGO License through the Charities & Societies Agency. The after-school and weekend impact program, Training for Tomorrow, prepares adolescent girls living in poverty with critical skills and opens pathways for the girls to realize their potential and create safe-options in their future. The program includes job training, counseling, mentoring, computer programming, karate classes and access to healthcare. The curriculum (outside of karate) is comprised of modules successfully used in case studies conducted by UN-based partners in developing countries. Girls in the program range in age from 9-18. Central to Studio Samuel's approach is to "teach a woman to fish." We facilitate local relationships on the ground, rather than offering a handout. It’s a sustainable model to help break the cycle of poverty.
