In rural communities across the Global South, fruit is naturally abundant and overproduced. There is no effective infrastructure or technology locally available to preserve this abundance. Agricycle designs, manufactures and sells low-barrier technologies to rural farmers and teaches them how to have zero waste. Agricycle buys the products created using their technology and builds on-trend brands focused on storytelling, natural foods, sustainability and transparency. Each brand uses the byproducts of others, and local products and industries are created with what cannot be exported. This maximizes margins because each brand uses the same supply chain and very similar production process.
