Solway Community Power Company (SCPC) was created to deliver enduring, positive socio-economic effect for the Solway region and the UK as well as excellent returns for our investors. By placing the first order of Rolls-Royce Small Modular Reactors (SMR), we will enable unit deployment by 2032, bringing material and enduring advantages to the Cumbrian community. The generation of clean, reliable, surplus power in the region presents an opportunity to attract energy intensive industry and to investigate other schemes such as regional heating and steam utilisation. We believe that this is a model that can be replicated for other communities across the country.
