HERSANA CIC
www.hersana.orgHERSANA CIC, a not-for-profit organisation working to end violence against women and girls in all its forms whilst providing holistic support to Black femmes who have experienced any form of gendered violence, at any stage of their lives, by providing free counselling/therapy, advocacy services, training and workshops, outreach, emotional and practical support. Our mission is to create holistic, gender-specialist, culturally specific and trauma-informed safe spaces for Black femmes affected by or at risk of gender-based violence across England and Wales, as well as campaign to eradicate violence against women and girls in all its forms. We aim to centre Black femmes in every narrative and to provide these services in a safe and Black femme only environment. We believe that safe spaces like our own can provide a sanctuary from the world of facades, a sacred space where we, Black femmes, can be ourselves, as we are. This kind of unmasking – speaking our truth, sharing our inner struggles, and revealing our raw edges – is sacred activity. Safe spaces designed for us, by us and with us in mind and at the forefront.
