Largest Manufacturer of White Cement in Africa Sinai White Portland Cement(SWC) part of Aalborg Portland Group, the biggest white cement producer throughout the world and the main cement producer in Egypt. Incorporated in 1999, SWC established a white cement plant in the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt. SWC sold its first bag in the market of white cement in November 2001 when the plant started production with a capacity of 410,000 MT of clinker per year. In 2004 Cementir Holding, a major Italian cement producer became the owner of Aalborg Portland Group and took over the management of SWC acquiring a majority of its shares. Contracts for a second production line in Sinai White Cement were signed in November 2006. The new line started production in October 2008. As planned, SWC became the main producer of white cement in Egypt and the one of the world's largest plants for producing white cement of the finest quality. By the end of 2009 SWC has reached a yearly production capacity of 1.2 Million MT of the highest quality White Portland Cement.
