Just outside the city of Utrecht, Slot Zuylen is one of the oldest castles along the Vecht river. The medieval castle has been converted into a country house in the 18th century. The best known resident was Belle van Zuylen (Isabelle de Charrière), writer, composer and feminist avant la lettre.
