DryD steam process: More steam than just drying The DryD steam process is the "turbocharger" for wastewater treatment. DryD uses the potential of steam as an energy carrier to enable disposal reliability, recycling of phosphor and reduction of CO2 emission. For this purpose, proven wastewater treatment processes are combined with state of the art solutions from the process industry, such as the Fluidised Bed Superheated Steam Dryer (FB - SSD) established in the sugar industry. The FB-SSD delivers steam after drying the dewatered sludge in the absence of air. Thus 100% of the heat used for drying is available again as steam at 150 °C. Therefore the heat can be used multiple times. The automation of flocculation through real-time flocculation assessment Automatic Flocculation is the catalyst for wastewater treatment. It is based on optical measurement, that uses the effects of sludge conditioning. With an intelligent algorithm, each flocculation can be automatised in real time. The numerous interrelated influencing variables in sludge dewatering, flotation or sedimentation, can be simplified and controlled with the assessment-algorithm. This results in increased operational reliability despite fluctuating wastewater and sludge properties.
